Gab Paquet
7 pm

Main Stage

There are many ways to describe Gab Paquet - "perfection made man" is just one example - but what you need to know is that this being of sensual excess and spiritual exaltation is first and foremost a bewitching herald with a divine gift for music, and that it's in French songs that he finds a vehicle for his essential messages - a sultry kitsch that's no guilty pleasure.

What we also need to know is that the aforementioned aesthetic and musical codes he employs are enticing lures to draw the public into the dedicated aspect of his artistic approach. His pieces magnanimously offer several levels of understanding, with something for everyone - a laugh, a reflection, an in-depth study, an enlightenment - in ecstatic communion.

Singing and rapping in Lingala, French, English, Tshiluba and Kikongo, the artist similarly weaves his stories across the boundaries of language and geography.

FAQ and site map
We've got an answer to (almost) all your questions!

If you have any further questions, please don’t hesitate to contact us at [email protected].

Is Cabane Panache free?

Admission to the event and all its programming is entirely free! Only the food and beverage booths charge a fee. Please note that some booths will only accept cash as payment.

*Only the Candlelight concert in the Église Notre-Dame-des-Sept-Douleurs is a paying event. Tickets available here

Is it possible to book in advance?

As Cabane Panache is an outdoor festival on Wellington Street, it is not possible to take reservations for groups. We advise you to arrive early to get a front-row view of the Main Stage, for example, and make the most of everything!

How to get to the event?

As the Cabane Panache festival takes place on Promenade Wellington, the site is accessible in many ways, but to both keep fit and reduce your ecological footprint, we recommend active or public transport:

🟢 BY METRO – De l’Église station, green line

🚌 BY BUS – Lines 12, 37, 58 and 61

🚲 BY BIKE – Bike path along the waterfront and De Verdun street. Bicycle parking nearby

🚗 BY CARSHARING – More than 500 parking spaces nearby, including the Éthel multi-level car park with 260 spaces. For a parking map, click here!

Is Cabane Panache a family event?

Absolutely! We encourage the whole family to come out and enjoy the Cabane Panache experience. Most activities and entertainment are kid-friendly, and decadent hot chocolate will be available at Chez Robin Marché Local booth.

Are there toilets on site?

Yes, there will be several “bécosses” (outhouses) located behind the info booth, including one for people with reduced mobility. You can always use the toilets at nearby businesses in exchange for a small drink! 😉

Are dogs allowed on site?

As long as he’s on a leash, Doggy is welcome to join in the fun! Please note that a lot of people are expected, so if your pet isn’t comfortable in crowds, it might be best to leave him at home!

Also note that with spring weather and the expected number of boots, Cabane Panache camp can get muddy fast, and it can get messy for your four-legged friends!

What’s the best way to dress for Cabane Panache?

Cabane Panache is a 100% outdoor event and takes place at the beginning of spring in Quebec, so while the weather can be great, it’s always a little chilly! Dress in layers, and hats and mittens are a must. There will be fireplaces and campfires at various points on the site to keep you warm, but double up on your socks and put on your warm woollies!

As for style, this is the time to get out your lumberjack clothes that you don’t mind getting dirty, and warm, waterproof “chouclaques”. White shoes aren’t recommended, but your best plaid shirts sure are! 😉

Are shows postponed in case of rain, snow or bad weather?

As far as possible, all shows and events are maintained, depending on the intensity of the weather and the type of show. The show must go on! However, if a show has to be postponed or rescheduled, you’ll be notified via our social networks and Facebook event.

What should I bring to Cabane Panache?

Here’s a non-exhaustive list of the essentials for a great time at Cabane Panache!

  • A bottle of water: Cabane Panache is an eco-friendly event! No bottled water will be sold on site. A water station will be available to refill your bottle, so remember to bring your water bottle!
  • Cash : Some booths do not accept cards as a method of payment. We recommend that you withdraw cash in advance, to avoid waiting in line at the bank! And don’t forget a little $2 for the ecocup deposit! If you need it, there’s a Banque Nationale, an RBC and a Caisse Desjardins close to the site.
  • Warm clothes: a pair of extra socks won’t take up much space, and will save you a couple of toes if Mother Nature ever decides to bring up cold weather, especially in the evening!
  • A reusable bag: You never know what treasures you might bring back with you on a trip to Cabane Panache! Don’t forget your reusable bag to bring back your findings or souvenirs.
  • Reusable containers and utensils: If you want to be at the top of your game, you’ll want to bring along some small containers to hold leftovers in case you’ve bitten off more than you can chew to avoid food waste. If you have picnic utensils, for example, remember to slip them into your bag!
