Évenement
On Wednesday, August 2 at 8:30pm, Quai 5160 – Maison de la culture de Verdun, in collaboration with Ciné-Quartier, presents the film adaptation of the best-selling novel “Le Plongeur” in the park of the presbytery of Église Notre-Dame-des-Sept-Douleurs. Fancy an evening of cinema under the stars in the middle of summer? Now’s your chance!
Director Francis Leclerc will also be on site for a discussion after the screening of this hit film, released last February.
Montreal, winter 2002. Stéphane, a 19-year-old metal fan and graphic design student, dreams of becoming an illustrator. But for months now, he’s been spiraling out of control: he’s addicted to gambling. In debt, without an apartment, avoiding his friends to whom he owes money, Stéphane takes a job as a dishwasher in a restaurant to get by. He discovers the hectic life of a restaurant as the holidays approach, and its gallery of characters.
With Henri Picard, Charles-Aubey Houde, Joan Hart, Maxime de Cotret.
*In the presence of the director for a post-screening discussion.
“Marked by feverish but never flashy direction, LE PLONGEUR is not only a true, but an excellent film.” (Marc-André Lussier, La Presse)
