In the heart of Verdun’s cultural district, relive the 18th century as if you were there. The Maison Nivard-De Saint-Dizier invites you to relive the daily life of 18th-century settlers, at a time when Verdun was covered in farmland and boasted a fort.
Continuous entertainment on the grounds of the presbytery of Notre-Dame-des-Sept-Douleurs church, a stone’s throw from the Église metro station.
On the program:
👉Period encampment led by the Habitants de la Nouvelle-France, with shoemaker, cooper, tailor, trapper, washerwoman and coureur des bois.
👉1740 military guardhouse presented by the Compagnie de Lacorne, with weapons demonstrations, period games and crafts.
👉Recruitment of apprentice soldiers by recruiting sergeants from Productions Oyez Oyez on Wellington St.
👉Talks with members of the Société d’histoire et de généalogie de Verdun
