Description of the organization
The Carrefour jeunesse-emploi (CJE) de Verdun is a non-profit organization that aims at the integration into employment or the return to school of youths and adults between the ages of 15 and 35 from Verdun and the island of Montreal.
Description of tasks
In order to promote the socio-professional integration of the clientele, the professional development counsellor will have to :
- Conduct individual counseling interviews.
- Draw up a vocational assessment and employability profile.
- Develop a vocational intervention plan aimed at integration into employment or studies.
- Accompany customers in implementing their action plan.
- Teach dynamic job search techniques (MDRE) to customers.
- Research and transmit relevant educational and professional information.
- Keep customer files complete and up to date, diligently recording all relevant information.
- Verify integration into employment or studies by following up with young people.
- Complete reports, statistical forms and questionnaires.
- Participate in team and stakeholder meetings.
- Create and lead workshops and group activities to address specific psychosocial issues.
- Collaborate on special projects.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in career development, guidance, social work, psychology or other relevant training.
- Over 3 months’ experience in a similar position.
- Experience in group facilitation.
- Experience with clients presenting a variety of psychosocial problems.
- Open-mindedness, versatility and ability to work as part of a team.
- Bilingualism an asset.
Working conditions
- Permanent position of 70 hours every two weeks, Monday to Friday, during the day, and on a rotating basis on Tuesday evenings.
- Salary: between $40,506.11 and $53,547.78, depending on experience and collective agreement salary scale. Please note that the salary scale is currently under review and will be adjusted upwards shortly.
