Back to school: activites for all on the Well!

It’s back-to-school time, and with it comes a return to routine, or the integration of a new one! Why not take the opportunity to introduce your children to a new after-school activity? Promenade Wellington is full of places where kids can discover new passions, learn while having fun, and even, why not, become kung fu pros or budding artists!

Here are a few of the places on the Well that offer artistic, sporting or social activities for all ages, budgets and schedules. There’s something for everyone!

Club Kozak

For little ninjas, Club Kozak offers wrestling classes for ages 8 to 12 and Kung Fu for ages 6 to 12. Instructors teach how to move with confidence, respect others and adopt a healthy lifestyle. Like a mix of action movie and life lesson!

The kids’ program focuses on basic techniques in a fun, safe environment. Classes are offered on weekdays after school by a passionate and experienced instructor.

Ballet Hop!

Ballet Hop! offers dance classes for mini-ballerinas (and ballerinos!) aged 0 to 10. Divided and adapted to different age groups, classes teach the basics of ballet and body movement in space in a playful, non-competitive approach. Ballet Hop! focuses on memorization, musicality and technique, all covered with a layer of fun!

Children’s classes are offered on weekends.

Studio Avant-Garde

Want to see your kids turn into star dancers? Studio Avant-Garde offers instruction worthy of the very best! From the age of 3, little dancers can be introduced to dance, and for older children (7 to 12), there’s room for Latin dance, with classes in Cha Cha, Rumba, Samba, Jive and Paso-Doble.

The Studio allows young dancers to cultivate a passion for movement, creativity and self-expression in a fun and stimulating environment. Now’s the time to find out if you’ve got a future champion of the dance floor at home!

Studio Tre Punti

Make way for creativity! At Studio Tre Punti, young artists can blossom through a multitude of artistic disciplines: music, dance, visual arts, theater… Everything is possible!

Whether in private or group lessons, weekdays or weekends, this place offers a real palette of courses to suit all tastes. Youngsters aged 2 to 12 can enjoy the benefits of learning and practicing the arts. Who knows, this could be the setting for the next Picasso… or the next pop star!

Kumon

For those for whom math and English are not their cup of tea, the Kumon Center is there to turn these academic subjects into child’s play. Offering tutoring for students from pre-kindergarten through to pre-university level, Kumon helps reduce the stress of homework and prepare calmly for exams.

Instructors will help your child learn in a personalized, self-paced format, allowing for academic growth and success. And as an added bonus, they even offer virtual sessions!

Carrefour jeunesse-emploi de Verdun is honoring school perseverance with a support program for young people aged 15 to 17, for whom school and studies can sometimes be a challenge. School perseverance counsellors are there to help them regain motivation and hold on to a project for the future. A real helping hand for those who need it!

Services are free for Verdun area residents.

Finally, for teenagers aged 12 to 17, the Maison des jeunes Point de Mire is the ideal place to meet up after school. Whether it’s video game night, a trip to the movies or even jewelry-making, there’s no room for boredom here. With passionate animators, it’s the perfect spot to relax with friends after a long day at school!
