Promenade Wellington is proud to partner with Montreal artist LeBicar for its very first open-air ephemeral exhibition. This unique exhibition featuring his character Bloom flourished on 5 cross-street buildings on Verdun’s Wellington Street, transforming the commercial artery into an open-air gallery.
Bloom on the Well
The artist drew inspiration from the various passers-by on Promenade Wellington to create a series that puts his little character in context on the Well. From the young surfer to the dancers at the creamery and the young family at the bookshop, LeBicar wants to highlight the little moments in life that are often overlooked.
Among other things, the exhibition aims to enhance and embellish buildings through art, while highlighting the architectural richness of Wellington Street. The project is also part of a desire to create and maintain links with the owners of the buildings on the street, essential to maintaining the balance and commercial vitality.
By drawing attention to the works of art, the exhibition gives visibility to the businesses on the street and helps to boost commercial activity, reinforcing the attractiveness of the street and the neighbourhood. This initiative is an invitation to rediscover Verdun in a new perspective, while celebrating local talent.
